Becoming an Effective Board Member
They're out there: organizations in need of board members to provide trusted advice, guidance, and support. But what exactly is involved in board membership? How can you tell if you're ready to serve? And how can you tell which of those companies is right for you?
You'll find the answers at this highly interactive program, where participants will learn what board membership is all about. You'll gain the knowledge you need to serve effectively, including:
- The roles and responsibilities of a board
- The activities performed by board members
- How board performance is evaluated
You'll also participate in a board simulation, where you'll see the inner workings of a board firsthand, and learn how to identify organizations that match your personal skills, goals, and interests. Equipped with this knowledge, you'll be ready to take the first steps on the path to board service -- a journey that could be one of the most rewarding and fulfilling experiences of your career.
